Young Hands, Big Hearts: NHSV Youth Volunteers in Action
On January 8th 2026, the young men from Nourishing Hope Silicon Valley (NHSV) completed our January donation of baby formulas, cereals, and purées to South Valley FISH Food Pantry—and took an important step forward in their journey of service.
In addition to delivering essential baby nutrition items, this marked the first time our youth volunteers served as food distribution runners. Over the course of 2.5 hours, they worked alongside experienced pantry volunteers to help move food efficiently from distribution points to families in need, many of whom have infants and young children.
What made this experience especially meaningful was the opportunity for our young men to see the full impact of their efforts. The baby food they helped fundraise for and organize did not remain as boxes or numbers—it became nourishment directly placed into the hands of families. This tangible connection between service, generosity, and real human need left a lasting impression.
For NHSV, youth volunteering is not only about helping meet immediate community needs; it is also about cultivating empathy, responsibility, and leadership in the next generation. Through hands-on service, our young volunteers learn that giving back is not abstract—it is personal, relational, and deeply rewarding.
We are grateful to South Valley FISH Food Pantry for welcoming our youth volunteers and for the vital work they do every day to support local families. Most of all, we are proud of our NHSV young men for showing up with open hearts, willing hands, and a genuine desire to serve.
This is how compassion grows—one act of service at a time.
