Creativity in the AI Era: Our First Sticker Workshop at Serra Park

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Serra Park in Sunnyvale, Nourishing Hope Silicon Valley hosted our first Sticker Workshop, led by the talented artist and instructor Irene Chu.

As children gathered under the sunshine and gentle breeze, they transformed their ideas into colorful, personalized stickers. Some designed adorable animals, others created imaginative food characters, and many explored how colors, shapes, and composition can bring a design to life.

Watching the children create reminded me of my own childhood. When I was five years old, I struggled in an art class because I could never draw hands correctly. I remember becoming so frustrated that I cried in the classroom, wondering why my teacher could make it look so effortless while I could not.

Years later, I realized that the difference was not talent—it was guidance.

A great teacher is more than someone who possesses a skill. A great teacher helps children learn how to observe, explore, and discover for themselves. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, they encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

That is exactly what we hoped to provide through this workshop.

In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, we believe creativity, aesthetic appreciation, imagination, and the ability to observe the world with wonder are more valuable than ever. These uniquely human qualities help children become innovative thinkers, effective problem-solvers, and compassionate individuals.

We are grateful to Irene Chu for sharing her artistic expertise and passion with our young participants, and we thank all the families who joined us for this special event.

At Nourishing Hope Silicon Valley, our mission extends beyond supporting children's physical well-being through nutrition. We also strive to nurture their creativity, confidence, and potential through meaningful educational and community programs.

We look forward to hosting more workshops that inspire children to learn, create, and grow together.
